What can I expect at my first physiotherapy session?

The initial consultation will consist of getting to know you as an individual and performing an initial assessment. This will include a short interview, a functional assessment (including assessing strength, range of motion and mobility) and ascertaining your individual goals and preferences. The initial consult may take up to 1 hour to complete. If relevant we may also conduct a risk assessment of your home to determine falls risks, hazards and help you create a safer, more accessible home environment. Finally, we will try to perform some relavant treatment if time allows which may include prescription of exercises, gait re-training, massage or other physiotherapy related interventions.
